AMMON Staffing is recruiting a Benefits Operations Account Advisor I for a full-time temporary assignment in healthcare customer service and health insurance operations.
This is a high-volume call center position assisting health plan members and healthcare providers with questions involving insurance benefits, medical claims, billing, payments, eligibility, and coverage.
The position is primarily remote. However, candidates must live within 45 miles of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and must be available to report onsite several times per month or as otherwise required.
Pay and Assignment Details
Pay rate: $18.50 per hour
Employment type: Full-time W-2 temporary assignment
Assignment dates: September, 2026–February 16, 2027
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Work arrangement: Primarily remote with required onsite reporting
Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week
Work environment: High-volume healthcare customer service call center
Position Summary
The Benefits Operations Account Advisor I provides customer service support to health plan members and healthcare providers. This position handles inbound calls, researches account and claims information, explains healthcare benefits, and helps resolve insurance-related questions accurately and professionally.
Approximately 95% of the workday will be spent handling telephone calls. Successful candidates must be comfortable managing back-to-back calls, navigating multiple computer systems, documenting customer interactions, and meeting established performance standards.
Benefits Operations Account Advisor Responsibilities
Handle inbound calls from health plan members and healthcare providers.
Answer questions regarding healthcare benefits, medical claims, billing, payments, eligibility, and insurance coverage.
Research customer questions and resolve issues using multiple computer systems and information resources.
Review and explain benefit information, claims status, payments, adjustments, refunds, and account discrepancies.
Provide accurate, professional, and courteous assistance.
Document each customer interaction completely and accurately.
Take ownership of customer concerns and work toward first-call resolution.
Maintain current knowledge of healthcare benefits, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate with claims, billing, enrollment, provider services, and other internal departments when additional assistance is required.
Meet established standards for quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, attendance, and professionalism.
Protect confidential member and healthcare information.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
At least one year of customer service or medical office experience is required.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Completion of the Baton Rouge Community College Medical Assistant, Coding and Insurance pathway may be accepted in place of the required experience.
Must live within 45 miles of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Must be available to report onsite several times per month or as required.
Must successfully complete required customer service training and demonstrate proficiency.

Remote and Onsite Work Requirements
This position is primarily remote but is associated with a Baton Rouge worksite. Candidates must maintain a professional remote work environment and must be able to report onsite when directed.
