Pay Rate: $15.00–$17.50/hour

Shift: Mon-Fri 8:30a-5:00p

AMMON Healthcare is hiring a Medical Assistant to provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to ensure safe, efficient patient care. This role requires competency in administering injections, accurate documentation in Athena, strong communication skills, and at least 2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities
· Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections per provider orders.
· Perform vital signs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and medication reconciliation.
· Document all patient encounters, treatments, and procedures in Athena EMR with detailed, accurate charting.
· Answer incoming phone calls, manage patient inquiries, schedule appointments, and route messages appropriately.
· Process and complete medication refill requests through Athena, ensuring accuracy and compliance with clinic protocols.
· Prepare exam rooms, maintain clinical supplies, and follow infection-control standards.
· Assist providers with minor procedures and support efficient patient flow.
· Manage patient messages, clinical tasks, and documentation within Athena.
· Verify insurance, update patient demographics, and support front-office workflow as needed.
· Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and follow-up instructions.
· Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic policies.

Required Qualifications
· Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
· Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA preferred).
· Demonstrated competency in administering injections and performing clinical procedures.
· Proficiency in Athena EMR for charting, task management, and documentation.
· Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· CPR/BLS certification.

Preferred Skills
· Experience in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, or specialty clinics.
· Familiarity with Louisiana insurance plans and documentation requirements.
· Excellent patient-centered communication and customer service skills
